World Premiere of Prayer at Plaza Library Truman Forum

Artistic Director Laura Reinschmidt will present the world premiere of her ballet/pas de troi titled "Prayer" (Adagio for Strings) at the Truman Forum of the Plaza Library as part of the Kansas City Interfaith Council's Winter Lights program on February 24, 6:30 pm.  

"Prayer" examines the delicate interplay between all peoples of Faith who cherish their ways of prayer and worship and who also seek fellowship of other people of Faith - and the necessity to avoid imposition upon them.

"Prayer" will be performed by Ballet North dancers Aimee Cover, Hannah Luzicka and Kristin Smith.
The Kansas City Interfaith Council is a city-wide coalition of all faiths with a mission to foster understanding, collaboration and coexistence.  On the web at:

There is no charge for the event as it is fully sponsored by the Kansas City Interfaith Council and the Plaza Library.  

Ballet North Announces Young Dancer Accomplishments 2011

Ballet North is very pleased to be able to announce the success of the following young dancers in their efforts to achieve professional success with ballet!

Aimee has earned acceptance to Chicago Ballet's summer advanced program, Chicago Ballet's year round program, and a student contract offer with Chicago Ballet; Accepted to the ROCK School of Pennsylvania; Accepted to American Ballet Theater New York City Summer Intensive, waiting on placement in Pacific Northwest Ballet level 7 of 7, and most impressively accepted to the School of American Ballet (SAB)/New York City Ballet summer dance program.  Aimee will attend the School of American Ballet New York City this summer - great job Aimee!

Variations rehearsal for Sleeping Beauty 2011

An early go at one of the many and complex variations within the Sleeping Beauty ballet suite.  Ballet North will perform The Sleeping Beauty on June 10 and 11, 2011, at the Excelsior Springs Performing Arts Center.
