Ballet North: Expanded Open Classes

Expanded Open Classes at the Classical Ballet School!

We are pleased to offer the following classes, beginning in September ’09, in the Open Class Division at the studio. These classes are for teen and adult students ONLY.

Ladies Fitness Class
**Try a FREE class 6:15 – 7:15 pm Wednesday, September 9th**
Angela Rice, instructor

This class is a fun way to exercise and get into shape with Miss Angela. Set to music, the class consists of the following fitness activities:
1. Warm up for posture and flexibility at the barre (this is NOT a ballet class)
2. Floor exercises for strength and stretching
3. Center exercises for conditioning and balance
4. Relaxation
WEDNESDAYS 6:15 – 7:15 PM starting September 16th; $60 – 4 week session

Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss
Laura Reinschmidt, instructor

This class is an exploration of the mind, body, and spirit connection. It is a class for beginners with little or no previous Yoga Training. The structure of the class is as follows:
1. Gentle Movements for warm up & focusing the mind
2. Active Yoga Conditioning
3. Breathing & Relaxation
MONDAYS 7:00 – 8:00 pm starting September 14th; $60 - 4 week session

Jazz Class for Teenagers
Sarah Owings, instructor

The Classical Ballet School has LONG wanted to offer a jazz class that meets our criteria of appropriate music, movement and costumes. At long last we have found a teacher who agrees with our philosophy of “keeping it clean.” We have wanted to offer this for our students who may, after years of ballet training, decide that they wish to explore other forms of dance. Of course, this class is also open to anyone AGE 13 and UP ONLY. Because the body is held much more loosely in jazz than in ballet, we are not offering this class to young children.

WEDNESDAYS 6:00 – 7:00 pm starting September 9th $60 monthly tuition
