Ballet North: BALLET NORTH presents the cast for WAYWARD DAUGHTER

June 8th, 2009
Kansas City (Gladstone), Missouri

From the Ballet North studios, Albert Matthews reporting:

Artistic Director Laura Reinschmidt is pleased to announce the cast for "The Wayward Daughter" performing June 19, 2009 at the Kansas City Music Hall. States Mrs Reinschmidt: "These dancers have trained rigorously for months preparing this ballet, the presentation on June 19 will cap a 10-year effort to incorporate 'The Wayward Daughter' into the repertoire of the Company. This is a hallmark for Ballet North and a major achievement for all those performing in it."

(The following dancer descriptions are in alphabetical order by last name.)

Ballet North company dancer Aimee Cover is performing Carlata Grisi in Pas de Quattre and is in numerous roles inside of Wayward Daughter. At only 14, "...she is very young to be dancing at this level." states Artistic Director Laura Reinschmidt;

Ballet North company dancer Kevin Hamilton will perform the role of Colas in Wayward Daughter. Kevin has trained extensively for the role which contains numerous advanced sequences of both dance and partnering making for a very exciting performance.

Guest Artist Aimi Hammann will perform the lead role of Lise in Wayward Daughter. Aimi trained for years with the Classical Ballet School as well as the Bolshoi West Academy and participated in Boston Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet's Summer Intensive Programs, two of the hardest to earn entry into nationwide. She also worked with Tulsa Ballet before returning to Kansas City. Ballet North is delighted to see her return in this title role.

Ballet North company dancer Howard McKee performs the extremely tricky character role of Alain in Wayward Daughter. This role consists of pantomime, physical acting, and some of the most off-angle and difficult choreography anywhere. This role must be seen to be understood, but the best description would be Kramer meets Baryshnikov plus some Laurel and Hardy.

Catch the Wayward Daughter Friday June 19th 2009 at the Kansas City Music Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, $30 the day of the performance. Reserve seating - call 816-513-5000 and ask for either Carla Budd or a Music Hall representative to purchase tickets or go to (service charge not included for website).

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a superb job with this. Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox. Excellent Blog! google mail sign in
